The National Council of State Boards of Nursing Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) exam is a test that a prospective nurse needs to take in order to become an RN.

The NCLEX exam is a test that is required to be taken by those who want to be registered nurses. The test is a nationwide test and each state has different locations to take the test. The exam measures your knowledge of basic nursing skills. Also it tests your capability to make nursing decisions.

NCLEX Test Preparation

When preparing for the exam, seek out practice guides. These practice guides can be purchased or checked out at the library. Some practice guides include CD-ROMs. There are also organizations that help prospective test takers prepare for the NCLEX. One such place is the Hurst Review. What is on the NCLEX

Test takers will need to know a wide range of topics for the NCLEX. Pearsonvue issues the test at over 200 Pearsonvue Professional Centers. You should go to the Pearsonvue site to find the location nearest you. There are different locations where test takers can take the computer-based test. You will get a Authorized to Take Test (ATT) letter once you go through registration process and it has been determined that you are eligible to take the test. You should have received this letter to schedule to take the exam. You are given six hours to complete the exam. There is a minimum of 75 questions to answer with the maximum of 265 to answer. You do not get partial credit.
